How to Increase Productivity

Are you suffering from a lack of time?  Unable to finish the tasks you start?  Well, here are some simple yet effective ways to increase productivity.

How to Increase Productivity

Use To Do Lists

Start creating lists of things you need to complete.  I like to keep a notepad handy that I can scribble down items.    Make sure you keep your list in an accessible place so that its always at hand.  If you don’t want a paper list, you could try using one of the many online todo list managers.

Set Yourself Reminders

Forgetting important things can cause stress and will result in a slump in productivity.  Set yourself reminders that you are unlikely to forget.  You could use your mobile phone, but a reminder application like Task.fm is much more effective.  It will keep track of your events in the cloud and send reminders through via email, sms, or even a phone call.

Track Your Time

Use a free tool like RescueTime to automatically track what you are spending time on.  Rescue Time runs on your PC or Mac and will give you a very detailed overview of exactly what you’re wasting time on.  Its great to cut down on procrastination.

Tackle One Task Right Away

Don’t let yourself procrastinate.  Take the time in the morning to tackle one important task before moving onto anything else.  Once you achieve this task, you will feel a small sense of achievement, hopefully leading to a boost in motivation.   Don’t try and take on too many tasks at once – you’ll just end up procrastinating.

So there are my tips on how to increase productivity.  What are yours?

Great post. According to me music is also the best option. The music is so mystic and gives an out of this world experience. It converts work into pleasure seamlessly whereby you are not actually working but entertaining yourself for hours together.
