Sleep Twice a Day to Be More Productive

by Anthony on March 22, 2010

It may sound silly, but sleeping twice a day will actually make you more productive.  Here’s why:

By default humans are biphasic sleepers.   This means we are meant to sleep twice in a 24 hour period.  You probably already notice yourself getting tire of an afternoon, and this is completely normal.

In many countries around the world, it is quite normal to take an afternoon nap.  This nap, will help with your metabolism and energise you well into the night.

But why does sleeping make you more productive?  Well, if you try and fight the urge to sleep, you will start losing focus and concentration.  Most likely you’ll end up procrastinating, or if you do manage to get work done, it will be of poor quality.

Of course its not practical for many people to sleep twice a day, but if you do have the option of taking an afternoon nap, than try it out.  You may become productive, get more done, and have a happier end to the day.  There is nothing like eliminating stress and staying more healthy and active with an afternoon nap.
